http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=25103 --- Comment #1 from Austin English <austinenglish(a)gmail.com> 2010-11-10 13:46:46 CST --- Please attach plain terminal output. Likely DRM protection, you can use 'ProtectionID.exe' to figure out what protection it's using. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=25103 --- Comment #2 from Emanuele <emanuele.emalele(a)gmail.com> 2010-11-11 03:33:04 CST --- Thank you Austin. Unfortunately I already tried with Protection ID last version (updated with cd check until 2010) launched directly from Wine but the program itself says no protection at all. The game indeed needs the DVD when starts so I think it could be some sort of custom cd check made for the Gold Edition. Is it possible? How can we control it if Protection ID says everything is good? Maybe the following could be of help: to play in Windows without the DVD, just as confirmation of 'custom' cd check installed in damn game ;) , you need Daemon Tools with a special image and not only a generic no dvd exe file. I tried Daemon Tools in Wine but on launching it gives an error message about something unsupported, anyway not the point of this defect. I'm sorry but I do not understand your first request: the attach is plain output piped to a simple text file and bzipped; should I post directly the attach in .txt format? It is 4MB if I remember well. Thanks again. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

From the trace log it looks like SafeDisc 2.x so this might be fixed for some time now.

http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=25103 --- Comment #9 from Emanuele <emanuele.emalele(a)gmail.com> 2012-05-27 11:37:52 CDT --- Hi Anastasius, I've retested it with Wine 1.5.4 and the issue seems evolved in some other beast ;) Ok, the game shows the logo then it checks for the DVD and it's ok (so the debugger issue is definitely solved), then the screen got black and resolution set to 640x400, the initial menu appears (corrupted of course), then Wine crashes. By returning in X I have the 640 res instead of mine. I've attached another file .txt with the console's output. Thanks you. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.
