http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=28256 Summary: Nook for PC (BNDReader.exe) crashes on startup Product: Wine Version: 1.3.27 Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org ReportedBy: bugzilla(a)bkennelly.net BNDReader.exe crashes with: Call from 0x7b839f22 to unimplemented function msvcr90.dll.asctime_s, aborting It worked in 1.3.26. Reading the changelog, I saw the new manifests, and discovered that deleting the "windows/winsxs/manifests/x86_microsoft.vc90.crt_1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b_9.0.30729.4148_none_deadbeef.manifest" file fixed the problem. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

Workaround:
Open the "Wine Configuration Tool" (winecfg) Switch to the Libraries Tab Set MSVCR90 to (native, built-in) Click the "Apply" button.
Nook for PC 2.5 comes with the required dll in its "Program Files" folder. No need to install anything else.
This does not work. With the SxS manifest in place, Wine seems to ignore this setting. Removing the manifest allows the Nook software to work without any special settings. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

Don't know how but that was working the other night perfectly when I recompiled the wine source like 5 times with fresh wine folders each time. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.
