And it seems to be in vcrun2010, so I installed that. I installed dx9, set overrides, installed more vcruns. Stil not going anywhere. It definitley starts to feel that this is protected somehow. I did that and I got an error dialog that the game cannot be run on this windows (don't remember the exact words).
