[Bug 26206] New: Halo Combat Evolved - Intro movies ( .bik format ) break sound for game
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=26206 Summary: Halo Combat Evolved - Intro movies ( .bik format ) break sound for game Product: Wine Version: 1.3.14 Platform: x86 OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org ReportedBy: shannon.vanwagner(a)gmail.com When I launch Halo Combat Evolved, the 3 .bik Intro movies (gearbox.bik, mgs.bik, and bungie.bik) play with sound but then when it gets to the menu for the game, sound doesn't work at all until I change the screen resolution in the game. Sound will also work from the start, if I rename these files (so they don't load at all): .wine/drive_c/Program Files/Microsoft Games/Halo/bungie.bik .wine/drive_c/Program Files/Microsoft Games/Halo/mgs.bik .wine/drive_c/Program Files/Microsoft Games/Halo/gearbox.bik -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

Does the demo have the same problem? http://download.cnet.com/Halo-Combat-Evolved/3000-7441_4-10235611.html It doesn't... but there are no intro movies that play either. In the program directory, there's only one *.bik file named demo.bik, which plays when you exit the game.
I even downloaded the bink player for Linux, launched the demo.bik file above, sound works... so then started the game at the same time and the works for both, at the same time. There must be something about the transition from the intros to the full version game that breaks the sound (or something). -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

There's no way to completely miss them without renaming the files either. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.
