[Bug 52057] New: Wabbajack Mod Pack Installer - Fails to Start with Stack Overflow Error
https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=52057 Bug ID: 52057 Summary: Wabbajack Mod Pack Installer - Fails to Start with Stack Overflow Error Product: Wine Version: 6.20 Hardware: x86-64 OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown Assignee: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org Reporter: nekoNexus(a)protonmail.ch Distribution: --- Created attachment 71067 --> https://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=71067 WineStaging-6.20-Output-Log For reference, Wabbajack is an open-source C# mod pack installer for Bethesda games (like Elder Scrolls and Fallout) ( https://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=40371&iTesting... ) The version I tested this with is obtained here: https://github.com/wabbajack-tools/wabbajack/releases/tag/2.5.3.1 And I did so with Wine Staging 6.20 (Adding an attachment with the output of my attempt) (The " libgtk3-nocsd " messages are just a program that replaces GTK app borders with Qt ones; more info on that here: https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/gtk3-nocsd-git/ In my experience, this makes no difference on running applications at all.) -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. It starts here (also tested with Staging-6.20), and though some mono errors are flooded to the console, the main window comes up, starts downloading things, and then I can click several buttons that seem to work. So I cannot discover a bug for now. Do you otherwise have some special setup for wine or so? Also: you added "dotnet" keyword: did you test with native dotnet (like 'winetricks dotnet48')? If not, please remove keyword Regards sha1sum Wabbajack.exe 3fea82ed6bbc3bc33d17493cc8e02048fda6e43e Wabbajack.exe -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=52057 --- Comment #2 from nekoNexus(a)protonmail.ch --- I did use winetricks -q dotnet 48; attempting to use Mono threw me this message: "Cannot open assembly './Wabbajack.exe': File does not contain a valid CIL image." I don't have a special setup for wine either; I had created a new 64-bit prefix for this -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=52057 --- Comment #3 from nekoNexus(a)protonmail.ch --- Ah, sorry, I got that backwards: I meant to install dotnet 48 but forgot for some reason; I'll try again with this That said, I'll remove the tag for now and leave this as a clean prefix issue because that's what it was when I reported it -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=52057 --- Comment #4 from Louis Lenders <xerox.xerox2000x(a)gmail.com> --- Hi, thanks for reporting back. FYI: I also tested with 'winetricks dotnet48' and same result: Starts fine and appears to be working fine here. Maybe someone else could try to reproduce crash? -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=52057 --- Comment #5 from nekoNexus(a)protonmail.ch --- I just tried with dotnet 48 in Staging 6.21 and I still couldn't run it in a new prefix; I'll try again though; not sure why you and I are getting different results -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=52057 --- Comment #6 from nekoNexus(a)protonmail.ch --- Nope, I just can't get it to run for whatever reason :/ -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=52057 --- Comment #7 from Ken Sharp <imwellcushtymelike(a)gmail.com> --- Tested with vanilla Wine and had a crash I had to work around (renderer=gdi). Following this the application starts fine, albeit with a lot of errors in the console. The application immediately crashes if I mouse-over the X (close window) in the title bar. This does not occur with Staging. Same with or without dotnet48. The crash I experience seems different so not attaching log. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply.
