A lot of work is needed to obtain a 64-bit Wine which will ONLY run 64-bit apps. For running win32 apps you need to build a 32-bit version and read http://wiki.winehq.org/WineOn64bit about that. The bug itself is valid though as Wine can't be build at all in 64-bit mode right now.
