I can reproduce the problem in plain Wine-6.23, but not in Staging.
The Missing_Fonts patchset fixes the problem for me. https://raw.githubusercontent.com/wine-staging/wine-staging/master/patches/ fonts-Missing_Fonts/0003-fonts-Add-Liberation-Mono-as-an-Courier-New- replacem.patch
'winetricks courier' is a workaround when using plain Wine.
I can confirm that using winetricks to install "courier" is an effective workaround for crashes. In Wine 7.19 (development version), the layout problems in some documents seem to have been fixed, but the crash problem is still present. It can still be fixed by installing "corefonts" with winetricks.
