Since I know very little C/C++ this might be one area where I can contribute. I would have suggested this before, but I knew that everyone's busy getting the basics done in time for Wine 1.0, and of course, functionality and bug fixes is understandably more important than artwork. Now that a stable version has been released, I think this might be a good time to work on the look and feel. To contribute icons to Wine you need to create a standard patch file and send it to wine-patches(a)winehq.org -- you can check http://www.winehq.org/site/sending_patches for the generic rules. If you would have some technical problem e.g. how to create a patch, I could try to help (e.g. if you attach images to this bug, I can create a patch). The icons in Wine are created as *.ico or (recently, for some new icons) SVGs, from which the *.ico are built. Or do you mean, shell32's icons need to be replaced? If the former: which icons in particular?
