Is this still the case with 10.0?
Can you try running it from a terminal and see if there's any output?
Note: in theory you could use `wineserver -k` to kill all processes, though if things are really wrong that may not work.
Thanks for the response, the problem described magically stopped happening shortly at about the 4th time i tried launching it again with no changes.
