I figured out that lowering the graphic settings in the game has the effect, that the game does not crash so often. I also noticed that when you don't walk around much its more unlikely the game crashes, so i think there is a problem in loading new textures or something like that. Hi Bruno, yes i did. I tried it with the latest GIT version. $ wine --version wine-1.7.1 I get this error: http://imgur.com/4Dsrrig http://imgur.com/XpsUCu1 When the error occurred for the first time i talked about it with a wine dev in IRC and we tried to figure out together what is going on but at one point we had to stop. It took to long and apparently it is not that easy to fix. Hope that help. Would it be possible that you would test this with more recent wine 1.8 or 1.9 series?
I had not played this game in years but i installed it again and did not encounter this problem. I have to say tho that my hardware changed completely, it's much more capable now and i have 16 GB of RAM. Anyway, it seems to be working ok. I can't really call this fixed, since the change could be due to the better hardware.
