[Bug 24733] New: Everquest 2 Extended - much of world is black if shader model 3 selected?
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=24733 Summary: Everquest 2 Extended - much of world is black if shader model 3 selected? Product: Wine Version: 1.3.4 Platform: x86 OS/Version: Linux Status: NEW Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: directx-d3d AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org ReportedBy: dank(a)kegel.com There was a required update to Everquest 2 Extended in the last couple days. Because the EQ2 installer doesn't work on Wine, you have to run the updater on Windows, then copy C:/ProgramData/Sony to wine. With shader model 1, it behaves much as before, except for a blue waterfall problem in the character selection screen ( bug 24726 ). With shader model 3, however, half the world looks black, even with d3dx9_36 installed to work around bug 24726. Confusingly, the character selection screen seems to be drawn with shader model 3 even if you have sm1 selected, and as a result, its left side is all black. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=24733 --- Comment #1 from Dan Kegel <dank(a)kegel.com> 2010-10-13 12:26:01 CDT --- That last statement was false - it should have read The character selection screen's left side is all black if and only if you select shader model 3 in options (and restart so that takes effect). So the character selection screen is the easiest place to see this problem, and the workaround is to select shader model 1 in Options / Advanced. (Though then you hit a different kind of black artifacting in Neriak, see bug 24630.) -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

Is this still an issue in wine version 1.6-rc4 or higher or is this to be closed as abandoned ? -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.
