A better way to fix this bug is to add:

[Software\\Wine\\OpenGL] 1162641904
"DisabledExtensions"="GL_ARB_vertex_buffer_object"

to ~/.wine/system.reg

As to the white/black minimap problem, this is purely cosmetic but deeply
annoying. Perhaps
err:wgl:X11DRV_wglGetPixelFormatAttribivARB Unable to convert iPixelFormat 0 to
a GLX one, expect problems!
