Please attach +d3d,+wgl,+tid log.
Have you changed any settings from default (in winecfg/registry)?
How would the command line be? wine +d3d +wgl + tid MM7.exe 2> log.txt? I have not edited the registry manually. In winecfg I have created a 640*480 desktop for Win98.
