So I'm not sure if it is the same problem. The visibility of the black squares is that short, I couldn't manage to take a screen shot. It seems to be gone for me with wine 1.3.22, geforce 8800 and 260.19.29 (NVIDIA driver).
But I'm not 100% sure it was exactly the same bug as Dan had seen. My "black squares" where only temporary and couldn't be seen that well as in the pictures. Marking this fixed then, unless anyone can still reproduce it.
