I installed wine via the rpms available in the extras repository for Fedora Core
4.  Latest install is wine-0.9.5-2.fc4

notepad.exe -> /usr/lib/wine/notepad.exe.so
winhelp.exe -> /usr/lib/wine/winhelp.exe.so
winhlp32.exe -> /usr/lib/wine/winhelp.exe.so
control.exe -> /usr/lib/wine/control.exe.so
