Quick bisection between wine-1.1.15 and wine-1.1.16 gives following commit: 34eccc80b93fab59aec8ee1cf3c47bf31ce7c1b6 is first bad commit commit 34eccc80b93fab59aec8ee1cf3c47bf31ce7c1b6 Author: James Hawkins <truiken(a)gmail.com> Date: Thu Feb 19 12:04:09 2009 +0100 fusion: Implement the IAssemblyEnum interface. :040000 040000 9fd55a0bfcf54132c529be0a839bcfe917d8178f a49a95e545084b869c0c407666ae8e440f82030f M dlls There is also attached console diff between wine-1.1.15 and wine-1.1.16. _Maybe_ because of this behavior people report it as progress bar issue - like a link between NFS Undercover and bug 12116 (it's not a dupe because wine 1.1.7 works for NFS Undercover unlike bug 12116 has still a problem with this version). I think this is bugzilla's lack, that people don't have to leave a comment under a bug report when creating a link between application and bug report. At least i could see who made such link and ask him closer whether it's the same issue, what app/game version etc... Good news is, there is a free demo: http://www.filefront.com/11753986/FIFA-09-Demo/ But not only a demo is affected. If you look into AppDB you will find Elbolo's test result stating: "Installation hangs while "removing files" at 0%. I've able to install it however with the older wine 1.1.9" So this user was not patient enough. Installation takes really a long time since wine-1.1.16. Fifa 10 is also affected by this bug, produces same log as in comment #0, but the problem is not at the beginning of the installation like in case of NFS or FIFA 09 (i.e. state "Status: removing files"), but it "hangs" at the end of installation (i.e. state "Status: Publishing product information").
