[Bug 14007] New: Can't login -- Invalid Password
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=14007 Summary: Can't login -- Invalid Password Product: Wine Version: 1.0.0 Platform: PC URL: http://appdb.winehq.org/appimage.php?bThumbnail=true&iId =14942 OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: blocker Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org ReportedBy: ragai(a)avaarsani.ca I tried D-Link's IPSurveillance (versions 3.0 and 3.2) under Wine 0.9.51, 1.0RC5 and 1.0 under UBUNTU (7.10 & 8.04). It always installed without any error messages. I must enter a password during the installation. I can see the application running. I can see its icon in the task bar. However, when I try to lunch the application nothing happens. Just the hourglass and then nothing. When I try to lunch it the second time I get the login window. I always get the "Invalid password" error message. I do not know how to trace/debug this issue as I am new to Wine. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

I am sure Wine must have some sort of logging facility but do not where. I am familiar with Linux but totally new to Wine. I, later, corrected the user name and company in /.wine/system.reg. I used the user name "admin" as this is the standard when installing on WinXP. I just get a box with a frame titled "Wine Internet Explorer". In the terminal there are a few "fixme:..." errors. Not sure if the two are related. http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=14007 --- Comment #8 from Ragai <ragai(a)avaarsani.ca> 2008-06-25 22:13:01 --- Thanks. Now iexplorer works OK. But for the original bug, any idea what these error messages (in the attachment) are? Or what can be done to eliminate them? Is this still an issue in current (1.1.11 or newer) wine?
Unfortunately yes. It is the same for version 1.1.10 and 1.1.11. However, in version 1.1.12 the installer fails. I'll uninstall wine completely, upgrade to Ubuntu 8.10 and try again. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

No need, 1.1.12 is broken. Build from git, or wait for 1.1.13. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.
