(The app is shipped with a bundled native msvcp90, but Wine doesn't use it for some reason, reminds me of bug 14980.) 'winetricks vcrun2008' works around the problem. (The app is shipped with a bundled native msvcp90, but Wine doesn't use it for some reason, reminds me of bug 14980.)
It doesn't use its own because of the deadbeef manifest; delete it, and it will. I know. I'm hazy on why and whether that's a bug; bug 14980 and bug 24020 seem related. (I seem to recall Alexandre said at least one similar problem was Not A Bug.) But since the average user isn't going to delete a manifest, we need to deal with what happens when the app uses the builtin msvcp.
Are you sure this isn't a duplicate of bug 26832?
