in bug 3826 I read comments like

"This is a closed bug, do not add comments here."

"Please file a new bug report if you're still seeing this,
and be sure to include a link to the app in
question so we can reproduce it."

I followed that advice and created this bug report instead of moving to reopen 
6551, which I wasn't sure was the same as what I saw.  At any rate, there are 
some mixed messages to be found ;)
