[Bug 27863] New: eMachineShop: unable to get past "Fix Video problems" screen
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=27863 Summary: eMachineShop: unable to get past "Fix Video problems" screen Product: Wine Version: unspecified Platform: x86 OS/Version: Mac OS X 10.6 Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org ReportedBy: sam.kuper(a)uclmail.net Created an attachment (id=35644) --> (http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=35644) Screenshot of "Fix Video problems" window System used: * 2.16GHz Macbook * Mac OS X 10.6.8 * Wine 1.3.24 (installed via MacPorts) Steps to reproduce: Download emssetup173.exe from http://www.emachineshop.com/machine-shop/Download/page100.html to Downloads folder In Terminal, enter: cd ~/Downloads/ Then enter: wine emssetup173.exe Allow the installation wizard to run with default settings. In Terminal, enter: cd ~/.wine/drive_c/Program Files/eMachineShop Then enter: wine emachineshop.exe A popup window appears, via X11, titled "Fix Video problems" (see attachment). It offers a button to activate software-only rendering mode. Regardless whether I select that mode or not, the software does not run any further. If I quit X11 and run emachineshop.exe again, then I get a different window complaining that eMachineShop didn't quit properly the last time it was run and asking me if I'd like to run it again "normally", or with a blank document, etc. But after that, I get the "Fix Video problems" window again. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=27863 --- Comment #2 from sampablokuper <sam.kuper(a)uclmail.net> 2011-07-24 21:55:53 CDT --- (First, I should note that there's a typo in my description of the bug. Instead of: "In Terminal, enter: cd ~/.wine/drive_c/Program Files/eMachineShop" I should have written: "In Terminal, enter: cd ~/.wine/drive_c/Program\ Files/eMachineShop") (In reply to comment #1)
Terminal output?
None. However, if I press Ctrl-C a couple of times in Terminal, I get this: ^C^Cfixme:console:CONSOLE_DefaultHandler Terminating process 8 on event 0 err:ntdll:RtlpWaitForCriticalSection section 0x43aea364 "x11drv_main.c: X11DRV_CritSection" wait timed out in thread 0020, blocked by 0009, retrying (60 sec) And if I switch to X11 and press Cmd-Q, I get this: XIO: fatal IO error 4 (Interrupted system call) on X server "/tmp/launch-aIgpcO/org.x:0" after 4110 requests (4110 known processed) with 0 events remaining. XIO: fatal IO error 35 (Resource temporarily unavailable) on X server "/tmp/launch-aIgpcO/org.x:0" after 16 requests (7 known processed) with 0 events remaining. Hope that helps. I just installed Wine 1.2.3 via MacPorts. Same error message, same behavior, also no terminal output. I'm using an iMac 10,1 Core 2 Duo running Mac OS X version 10.6.6. I'm trying to get this working for someone on a Mac (works great for me on Linux). Their system specs are: XQuartz 2.7.2 Mac OS X 10.7.4 NVIDIA GeForce 320M 256 MB The error dialog that appears when loading the application is: wglMakeCurrent: 6 : Invalid handle. On the console I see: path: 14177_0x1800156 set off screen: invalid drawable Are there any debug channels that would be useful to run to diagnose this issue? This is not on my computer, so if you could send me a list of information to gather then I can help this person and report back. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

It contains a fix for the "set off screen: invalid drawable" error. I can now start the program by clicking next/done. The 3D rendering test window renders the 3D shapes in black rather than grey though (you can see it by clicking on the button at the top of the window to make the background blue). But maybe that's not Mac-specific and also happens on Linux. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.
