[Bug 26895] New: Rendering is red mesh/black text on black background
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=26895 Summary: Rendering is red mesh/black text on black background Product: Wine Version: 1.2.2 Platform: x86 OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org ReportedBy: fritzophrenic(a)gmail.com Application is Microsoft 3D Movie Maker Installation completes without noticing any issues, but game is unusable. http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=11767 Ubuntu Lucid with Wine 1.2.2. Colors are all messed up on most screens. Screen is covered in red mesh making text unreadable, menus unusable, and many of the animations look really bad. Possibly related to the game wanting to run in 256 color mode, did not investigate. This issue makes the game pretty much unusable. I'm very much a novice so I don't want to submit a test result, but I'd give this a "garbage" rating. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=26895 --- Comment #2 from Ben Fritz <fritzophrenic(a)gmail.com> 2011-04-24 15:07:33 CDT --- Created an attachment (id=34327) --> (http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=34327) debug log from a run of 3D Movie Maker I upgraded Wine to version 1.3.17 by following the instructions here: http://www.winehq.org/download/ubuntu The problem still exists. Attached debug log using instructions here: http://wiki.winehq.org/FAQ#get_log The attached log is of the application starting, and selecting "go to Imaginopolis" from the mostly-visible menu with the bad red color but a non-black background on the text. This launched a cinematic which had OK colors but out-of-sync sound, leading into a cinematic with the bad colors mentioned. This was followed by another OK cinematic, followed by the lobby screen which has all the problems mentioned (bad colors, and unreadable menus). I selected the top item in the unreadable Exit menu to exit, I assume it is a "are you sure you want to quit?" type of menu. Unfortunately I no longer have a Windows 95 computer to compare with, and I have been unable to install on Windows XP. Hope that helps! -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

Development recommends to check the status on your bug every release or two and let to be known if the bug is still present. If not, mark it fixed. If you are no longer able to put effort to this ticket, you can abandon it.
