[Bug 35555] New: Drakan Demo doesn't show the name of the display driver (the problem is in GetDeviceIdentifier when it is _not_ passed the DDGDI_GETHOSTIDENTIFIER flag)
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=35555 Bug ID: 35555 Summary: Drakan Demo doesn't show the name of the display driver (the problem is in GetDeviceIdentifier when it is _not_ passed the DDGDI_GETHOSTIDENTIFIER flag) Product: Wine Version: 1.7.11 Hardware: x86 OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: minor Priority: P2 Component: directx-d3d Assignee: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org Reporter: winebugs140(a)gmail.com Classification: Unclassified Created attachment 47477 --> http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=47477 Drakan Demo debug log +ddraw Erich, as you've asked (http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=34630#c17), a new bug report. With your patch, in the Drakan preferences window, instead of just "DirectDraw HAL", I can see now "DirectDraw HAL (the name of my GPU)". So I guess it's better. I don't know if it's connected in any way, but Drakan still doesn't detect that my GPU supports antialiasing (Bug 34625). TESTED ON: Windows Vista (without Wine), GeForce 9600M GS--the program works fine here Ubuntu 13.04, GeForce 9600M GS (NVIDIA driver 313) -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=35555 --- Comment #2 from Erich Hoover <erich.e.hoover(a)gmail.com> --- Excellent! I'll look into getting the patch submitted as soon as one of my other patches goes in. I presume that on Windows it says "Primary Display Driver (the name of your GPU)", is that correct? With respect to your antialiasing problem, I can look into that separately in the other bug. This particular function does not return the graphics card capabilities, so it's highly unlikely that it is related to the other issue. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. Yup, I get "Primary Display Driver (the name of my GPU)", at least on Windows Vista (I've got no other versions of this OS). PS There are other bugs here on Wine Bugzilla which affect older/retro games, and seem to be connected with the incorrect display driver detection or DirectX initialization. I will add you to CC lists of these bugs, maybe you'll find some interesting solutions. Regards. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=35555 --- Comment #4 from Erich Hoover <erich.e.hoover(a)gmail.com> --- This issue should now be fixed by commit 68e3b18533e3c71515a7294c0312c1b3c2201ee8. The other issues you've added me to are a little too complicated for me to look at right now (I have other patches I am working on), but if I get a chance I'll take a look and see what I can do. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply.
