Other bugs related to this commit: bug #28856, bug #29497, bug #30143. The linked demo version is in Polish, but speech is in English. Installation of the demo is straightforward. In the main menu click on the topmost button to start a new game. While in the game, right click on any of the inventory items to hear the broken dialogues. The game starts with a long intro video, which is unskippable, thus the generated debug log was 65 MB. I couldn't compress the log below 1 MB, so I uploaded the file here: https://docs.google.com/open?id=0B-tTbLKBl-tOVXlTTjdNMXVRd2FtbF9LRGUxc1FZUQ Fedora 16 x86 Alsa 1.0.25 Pulseaudio is not running Audio device: nVidia Corporation MCP61 High Definition Audio (rev a2) -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

The game starts with a long intro video, which is unskippable
It's skippable on Windows, which is nice :) I tested this on Windows 7 (on hardware, not VM), and it works much better. I had one instance of the very first line of dialog cutting out halfway through. Every other line of dialog I tried worked correctly. So I think it's probably an application bug that we're trigging more often than on Windows. Still investigating. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=30144 --- Comment #2 from Andrew Eikum <aeikum(a)codeweavers.com> 2012-03-12 13:06:02 CDT --- Indeed, this is a known application bug. See this review, for example: ========== Finally, AOM2 suffered from a horrible bug (on my 64-bit Vista system) where almost all dialogue lines are cut-off halfway through. I had to rely on the subtitles for 99% of the game. The recent patch available from the City Interactive website made no difference to this at all. <http://www.gameboomers.com/reviews/Aa/AOM2/AOM2.htm> ========== Since it only occurred for me once on my Windows installation, we might be able to tweak Wine's behavior to trigger the bug less often, at least. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

Still an issue when using pure Alsa (v1.1.1 on Fedora 23), but works indeed with Pulseaudio. Any hints, Andrew? wine-1.9.12-236-ge3bd659 -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

Not really, the game is just really picky about timing. Thanks for trying again. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

Does the bug still occur with wine-9.0? Yes it does. ALSA 1.2.10 / Arch Linux In addition, it can also be reproduced with Pipewire(Pulseaudio) on my current system :) As pointed out by Andrew Eikum in comment #3, this is actually a bug in the game itself which occurs on Windows too. Looking at the reviews and discussions on Steam, this bug occurs quite often for some people. https://store.steampowered.com/app/832540/Art_of_Murder__Hunt_for_the_Puppet...
Just saying I'm not against marking this report as invalid/not-our-bug. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
