[Bug 23617] New: d3d:context_apply_draw_buffer >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> GL_INVALID_OPERATION (0x502) from glDrawBuffers() @ context.c / 1890
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=23617 Summary: d3d:context_apply_draw_buffer >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> GL_INVALID_OPERATION (0x502) from glDrawBuffers() @ context.c / 1890 Product: Wine Version: 1.1.42 Platform: x86 OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: major Priority: P2 Component: directx-d3d AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org ReportedBy: peterpp_bg(a)yahoo.com Created an attachment (id=29543) --> (http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=29543) terminal window output with the errors When trying to start "Drakan: Order of the flame" I get an error box saying "The program Drakan.exe has encountered a serious error and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." I tried all kind of combinations for running the program - windowed, fullscreen, with and without "Vertex shader support" and "Allow pixel shader", virtual desktop, etc. I have also disabled the sound from the setup window at the start of the game in order to eliminate the possibility for sound compatibility issues. I have tried the fixes to the game described at the very bottom of http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?bShowAll=true&bIsQueue=false&bIsRe... by Christian Romane on Monday July 20th 2009, 7:02 The problem still persists. I checked some other bug reports related to Pol.exe without success. The problem seems to be in: fixme:d3d_surface:surface_load_ds_location No up to date depth stencil location wine: Unhandled page fault on read access to 0x00000014 at address 0x20ba7a4e (thread 0009), starting debugger... Unhandled exception: page fault on read access to 0x00000014 in 32-bit code (0x20ba7a4e). The full output of the terminal window is attached. I am running Ubuntu 10.04 LTS - the Lucid Lynx, with kernel 2.6.32-22-generic i686, Gnome 2.30.2, on an AMD Phenom II, with graphics from ASUS with ATI HD4850 chipset with the latest ATI/AMD proprietary drivers. From forums and info on the internet I know that Drakan uses obsolete directX calls which don't work on newer graphics cards. However it works fine on the same PC under Windows XP SP2. As an extra, the game fixes/patches described here http://www.arokhslair.net/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=2692 are supposed to fix the problem. I have tried them in wine too, but again no success. Many thanks to everyone willing to help on the issue. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

It worked after installing Wine version 1.2-rc7. It still has a few minor problems on start and exit, but the game is running fast and in some aspects even better than under Windows XP. The famous Windows XP bug that causes the game to crash after selecting the skill level when starting a new game is not present under Wine. I also suspect the Alwarren bug is gone too since it is similar. Great work! I am going to post some notes on the AppDB now to save other people the trouble. Thank you again! -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.
