[Bug 24506] New: The Elder Scrolls 4 - Oblivion not displaying correctly
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=24506 Summary: The Elder Scrolls 4 - Oblivion not displaying correctly Product: Wine Version: 1.3.3 Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org ReportedBy: singledaddy82(a)gmail.com Hi guys, First off, thanks for an amazing product! I am running Oblivion and have been doing so successfully under Wine 1.2 As soon as the 1.3.3 version was installed, the video in the game was rendered differently. Everything in the game is still functional, with the exception of anything that needs to be rendered in 3d. The status displays (2d) are rendered correctly, as is the mouse icon. These are still dynamic. The sounds and the interactivity are the same, including the physics. The menus are functional as well. I have tried reloading different saves and creating a new game, thinking that perhaps it was just a corrupted save tree... but no :( I would really like to get this game working again, the regression is a pain in the ass, but I don't want to have to go back to 1.2 unless I have no other choice... http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=24506 --- Comment #2 from singledaddy82(a)gmail.com 2010-09-23 17:14:16 CDT --- Isn't there an easier way to log output than downloading and compiling wine? Is there another regression test that can be used? (In reply to comment #1)

Isn't there an easier way to log output than downloading and compiling wine?
Sure, just run: $ wine oblivion.exe &> /tmp/log.txt
Is there another regression test that can be used?
Unfortunately, no. The regression test will pinpoint the exact change in wine that caused the problem. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

Then I tried a few settings changes and suddenly it is working again! The audio worked with all the default settings. The video was still not displaying. I changed Oblivion to run on a virtual desktop (1600 x 900) AND Changed the sound hardware acceleration to "Emulation" These settings made no difference on their own, but for some reason together they worked! :) Thank you again! :D -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.
