[Bug 13072] New: ZENcast Organizer Crashes During Install
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=13072 Summary: ZENcast Organizer Crashes During Install Product: Wine Version: 0.9.61. Platform: PC URL: http://us.creative.com/support/downloads/download2.asp?M ainCategory=213&Product=15283&dlcentric=10510&Product_Na me=ZEN+V&filetype=3&OSName=Windows+XP OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org ReportedBy: chad.sikorra(a)gmail.com Created an attachment (id=12829) --> (http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=12829) +relay log The installer extracts the files and then prepares for the install, but it crashes before the actual install begins. I've changed the windows version and that doesn't seem to affect the behavior of the installer. I tried previous wine versions the installer wouldn't even get as far as this crash (it would complain about the windows version not being correct, even though it was). The issue still happens in the current git. Attached is the backtrace and a +relay log. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

This might be a duplicate of bug 12639.
It looks like it might well be the same issue. However, when it crashes for you do you get the same backtrace? I get the same behavior that you described, where there are several blank lines printed to the console, but then I also get the above crash and backtrace. In previous versions of wine I did actually get an error message, but the error messagely was simply that my version of Windows was not supported. What version of wine are you testing from? -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=13072 --- Comment #5 from scguy318 <nodisgod(a)yahoo.com> 2008-05-10 20:56:39 --- I last tested with Wine 0.9.60, and I can confirm that this is still an issue with 1.0-rc1. For me, the app fails, but I could only get the application to spew the cabinet backtrace once out of many runs. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

I last tested with Wine 0.9.60, and I can confirm that this is still an issue with 1.0-rc1. For me, the app fails, but I could only get the application to spew the cabinet backtrace once out of many runs.
Now the issue is inconsistent for me too. I have two laptops, one is a Thinkpad T60 running Ubuntu 8.04 with wine 1.0 rc1 installed via source and the other is a Dell 1420n running Ubuntu 8.04 with wine 1.0 rc1 installed via source. On the Thinkpad I always get the crash in the cabinet dll. On the Dell I get the same issue that you see, where it just spews blank lines but doesn't crash. Both of these were tested several times with clean .wine directories. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

Creative changed their download site and seemed to remove this download. I can no longer remember the exact version of the app. I did find a new version, but it doesn't have the same issue. I did find a regression with the installer for the version I found now. I will report the regression in bug 12639, which seems to be the issue the installer is experiencing. The regression is between 0.9.59 and 0.9.60 -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.
