[Bug 56921] New: MusicBee: Random moments of lag when scrolling, seemingly related to rendering of rating stars.
https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=56921 Bug ID: 56921 Summary: MusicBee: Random moments of lag when scrolling, seemingly related to rendering of rating stars. Product: Wine-staging Version: 9.5 Hardware: x86-64 OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown Assignee: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org Reporter: v_winebugs(a)outlook.com CC: leslie_alistair(a)hotmail.com, z.figura12(a)gmail.com Distribution: --- Created attachment 76742 --> https://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=76742 Log from terminal Tested on Wine 9.5-staging, on Fedora 40 KDE Plasma Spin MusicBee will have these random moments of lag when scrolling on views and playlists that have rating stars enabled. It seems to be related to how the stars are being rendered, since when they are hidden the lag goes away, and this lag is not present when running MusicBee under Windows. To make it worse, this lag persists after the app is restarted. Attached is a log from the terminal done while using MusicBee with the lag. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=56921 --- Comment #1 from Victini <v_winebugs(a)outlook.com> --- Updated my Fedora install on 16th July, and oddly, the bug is gone. Fedora has not updated WINE at all. I'm not closing it in case it returns, the random nature of this issue makes it more difficult to debug. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. Just a shot in the dark tho. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=56921 --- Comment #3 from Victini <v_winebugs(a)outlook.com> --- I'll see what I can do, but I think the native gdiplus is installed via winetricks, anyway (blurring on places that use images/album art like playlist headers is broken otherwise). -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=56921 --- Comment #4 from Victini <v_winebugs(a)outlook.com> --- Had moments of lag again, so I went to check if WINE was actually using the native gdiplus, and indeed it was. I had set gdiplus to builtin and the lag disappeared, though elements that do use gdiplus aren't smoothed (or blurred in some cases) and look ugly as a result. Switching my MusicBee prefix to use native gdiplus restores the lag, so it may be an issue relating to native gdiplus. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=56921 --- Comment #5 from Victini <victini_bugreport(a)outlook.com> --- Not been having this recently. Native gdiplus tends to be slower than on Windows but IDK if that should be a bug worth reporting. Should this be closed? -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply.
