I had MS Office 2010 Word, PPT and Excel working reasonably well under
WINE1.5.6

Updating to WINE 1.5.7 has broken Office apps - after updating applications
won't start giving an error message "Microsoft Office cannot verify the license
for this product.  You should repair the Office program by using Control
Panel."

I cannot seem to revet to wine 1.5.6 to verify that this will fix the
problem...

Office 2010 works fine here in 1.5.7.

What distro are you on? If it's Ubuntu 12.04, this is a duplicate of bug 31060.
