I believe it suffers from bug 34989. It does hang here when I set windowsversion to XP. I believe it suffers from bug 34989.
I was able to install the application using patch from that bug (https://bugs.winehq.org/attachment. cgi?id=57910&action=diff&context=patch&collapsed=&headers=1&format=raw) but as I said, only when I set version to XP.
I also tried the patch, also setup windows as xp. I didnt test any other options beforehand, since I believe your testing is accurate. I get the same result.
