Fun Fact: there's a 90 day freely downloadable trial of
MS Visual Studio Professional 2005 (with Visual C++) at

It needs MFC42, else it complains
err:module:import_dll Library MFC42.DLL (which is needed by
L"C:\\windows\\temp\\SIT40161.tmp\\PIDGen.dll") not found
and says "already a trial version installed".
Past that, it then fails while installing the first prerequisite, 
.net framework 2.  I haven't tried to get further, but I
imagine it'll run into the msi issue this bug is about eventually.
