This issue has appeared to me just upgrading to Wine Staging 2.9. This problem was not on Wine Staging 2.8 and on the development version of Wine 2.9. My configuration: Arch Linux x86_64. Please note that this is not really a regression. Archlinux decided to switch to GCC 7 for the Wine Staging 2.9 builds, but the Wine code wasn't really for that yet. The issue can be worked around by disabling optimization, or by applying the patch from the bug report above. This also looks like a duplicate of bug 43127.
Please note that this is not really a regression. Archlinux decided to switch to GCC 7 for the Wine Staging 2.9 builds, but the Wine code wasn't really for that yet.
