I can't show you a picture of the problem, because the mouse pointer doesn't show up on the screenshots. Nothing relevant in the terminal. Tested on CentOS 5.5/5.6/5.7 with Wine 1.3.29, 1.3.30 and 1.3.31. The problem with the latest versions is that no cursor appears in the console window. The problem may affect some systems but not others, maybe it depends where WINE picks up the cursor bitmaps from. Perhaps it is from outside the WINE subsystem itself? In other programs there may be a black box over the secondary mouse pointer (for lack of a better term). The primary pointer for example typing in the main client area of notepad is unaffected, but if you try to adjust the sliders to change display width of fields in a full list dialog for example the cursor will change and this is what is affected). I tried, 1.3.12, 1.3.13, 1.3.20 and 1.3.28. All worked right. 1.3.29 and later shows the black box around the cursor. Any test you want me to make I'm willing to collaborate. http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=28896 --- Comment #4 from PeterM <petermc(a)dnet.co.uk> 2011-10-31 08:14:22 CDT --- After some experimenting, I found that the cursor issue in 1.3.31 resolves by setting a registry entry under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Wine\X11 Driver [Software\\Wine\\X11 Driver] "ClientSideWithRender"="N" Though I note that this setting is not recommended as a default setting by the WINE developers, http://www.winehq.org/pipermail/wine-users/2011-January/084247.html It also does not resolve the problems rendering some games, though other apps appear to work normally.
