The instructions for this are available here: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/520/cpsid_52063.html I managed to install Elements 8 successfully using this method. The Photoshop Elements 8 installer now works perfectly. Commit 9c892430ba3d9cf5c6c507ca258f0cb08400e2ba makes the license screen work (it didn't show up at all before this patch because of a crash in a custom action handler). After commit 80878d00da9b83fe456500efd73b8312e8383836 the country drop-down gets filled with countries so installation can proceed.
