I bisected the problem to 917d6afa695ba8d5124a11b02b18c6777cc9e56c, wbemprox: Implement Win32OperatingSystem.Installdate. The last stages of the bisect are attached. OS is Slackware 15.0, x86_64, RTX 4070. Windows version is set to 10 in winecfg. This commit changes the reported OS install date which may appear to the launcher/game as if Windows was reinstalled. Can you try reinstalling EA and the game?

If fresh prefix does not correct it I will create the wbemprox log. client has been auto-refreshed in the existing Win10 prefix. to reproduce: log into EA client, select library, select game (tested with PvZ GoTY and Steamworld Dig, both originally installed with old origin installer), launch game. That fixed it, thank you! Apparently the date update was a breaking change for an existing EA client install for some reason. Tested on wine 9.17 for proper install of the EA client (I let it auto-create the prefix to defaults). The game downloaded, installed, and launches now with no issues.
