Not a problem here with Word 2007 or 2003.
What version of Word (2007, 2003, etc.) is this, and is this a clean wineprefix (no winetricks or other tweaks, no other apps installed)?
Retest in Wine 1.3.24. If the problem persists, attach terminal output as a plain text file.
