With older wine, the window says that the browser/OS needs to be upgraded. Testing with some older binaries I have, the behavior changed somewhere between wine-8.10 and wine-8.15 (didn't try bisecting it). -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. If installing the WebView2 Runtime, and adding a config for `msedgewebview2.exe` to set the Windows version for it to Windows 7, and running the CC installer with `WEBVIEW2_ADDITIONAL_BROWSER_ARGUMENTS="--no-sandbox"`, the installer will work, though the mouse cursor doesn't show when over the window. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. While I don't appear to have this specific sha1sum version from 2024, I have a version from 2023 (version 2.12.0.20) and another from 2025 (version 2.14.0.57) and both do not show any window unless I install WebView2. I even grabbed a copy of Wine 9.7 from https://github.com/Kron4ek/Wine-Builds/releases/tag/9.7 and it behaves the same with these versions of the installer. I also tried creating the prefix with WINEARCH=win32, but it made no difference. Is there any chance you had some stuff in your prefix when you tested it? While needing to install webview2 is certainly not the end of the world (especially since no-sandbox is not needed in current Wine versions), it'd be nice to understand what is happening with the installer when using mshtml. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=48363 --- Comment #4 from Qwerty Chouskie <asdfghrbljzmkd@outlook.com> --- OK, so this is weird. Your link (https://prod-rel-ffc-ccm.oobesaas.adobe.com/adobe-ffc-external/core/v1/wam/d...) gives an installer with version 5.x My link (https://prod-rel-ffc-ccm.oobesaas.adobe.com/adobe-ffc-external/core/v1/wam/d...), gotten from going to the normal download site (with user agent spoofed to Edge on Windows, in order for the download button to exist), gives an installer with version 2.x. TBH, I'm not sure why Adobe gives two very different versions of the installer in different circumstances. (I'm actually not sure in what circumstances you would get the link that gives the 5.x version...) -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply.
