Found some Morrowind "backups" that are still seeded, thanks. I get some 3D in-game view which can be explored. There is some debug console where one can view the game engine progress (subsystem inits, shader snippets, events and the like). Changing the shader in game menu from 'HLSL' to 'CG' that didn't make any difference. Setting shader to 'off' made the view darker but the visuals (textures) were still present. Thanks for retesting/reminder. The builting d3d9 renderer shows only gray on my intel mesa laptop, but the opengl renderer sorta works.
