[Bug 40657] New: Rome Total War crashes at startup in gst_object_unref
https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=40657 Bug ID: 40657 Summary: Rome Total War crashes at startup in gst_object_unref Product: Wine Version: 1.9.10 Hardware: x86 OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: winegstreamer Assignee: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org Reporter: robert.munteanu(a)gmail.com Distribution: --- Created attachment 54528 --> https://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=54528 backtrace 32-bit wine prefix with steam installed. This used to work at some point, but I haven't tried RTW in a long time. After the initial splash screen, when a progress bar appears, RTW crashes. The backtrace points to winegstreamer, see attached. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. Also Andrew may have some hints related to this issue. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=40657 --- Comment #4 from rscheidegger_lists(a)hispeed.ch --- I tried bisecting this, but without much luck, since self-built wine crashed even earlier, albeit in gstreamer too. In order to build wine with gstreamer support I also had to update lots of gstreamer packages - the crash I got there was then seemingly because no plugin handling mpeg1 audio was available. Comparing this to the precompiled 1.9.7 wine, I noticed this one actually complained about failure to load winegstreamer.dll but apparently it worked fine without. But in any case, I no longer get a crash with updated gstreamer (and the required plugins installed). -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=40657 --- Comment #5 from Andrew Eikum <aeikum(a)codeweavers.com> --- I'm not able to reproduce this with gstreamer 1.8 in either Morrowind nor in the RTW demo from <http://www.gamershell.com/download_6784.shtml>. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. It could help. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

Even though this could be marked FIXED, I'll go for ABANDONED since you aren't able to test with vanilla wine anymore. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
