https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=43056 Bug ID: 43056 Summary: . Product: Wine Version: 2.8 Hardware: x86 OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: major Priority: P2 Component: -unknown Assignee: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org Reporter: juanesteban.uribe(a)hotmail.com Distribution: --- So, this is weird. I updated mi wine from 2.7 to 2.8 just to play the Starcraft 1.18 patch. The thing is, it's still not opening, and it fucked up my wine tricks program. It doesn't open now, I tried downgrading my wine version, by installing the staging and stable versions, but no changes were made. This is major because it changed my Windows version and the majority of programs that I had with wine are not opening now. Please help. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

Can you provide logs, what does 'not opening' exactly mean? Do you programs work if you downgrade wine back to 2.7? -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=43056 --- Comment #2 from juanesteban.uribe(a)hotmail.com --- No logs are provided anywhere, not even in playonlinux. Again, I can't downgrade, and when I do is like I haven't done anything. The programs do not open if I downgrade the wine version. Not opening means that the programs I attempt to open, well, don't open. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=43056 --- Comment #3 from Fabian Maurer <dark.shadow4(a)web.de> --- This sounds like there is something wrong with your setup. Do you use playonlinox or vanilla wine? How did you downgrade wine? There is no output when running wine in the commandline? -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=43056 --- Comment #4 from juanesteban.uribe(a)hotmail.com --- Vanilla. I tried downgrading it by downloading the stable version with the terminal, is this wrong? -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=43056 --- Comment #5 from Fabian Maurer <dark.shadow4(a)web.de> --- If you downgraded it from the repos of your distro, it's fine, I guess. Are all the programs that aren't working anymore in the same wineprefix? And what is the output if you run wine to try and open one of these programs from the commandline? -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply.
