[Bug 29797] New: Border around level select has funny lines and isn't smooth - Battle for Naboo
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=29797 Bug #: 29797 Summary: Border around level select has funny lines and isn't smooth - Battle for Naboo Product: Wine Version: 1.3.16 Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: trivial Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org ReportedBy: jthomas97411(a)yahoo.com Classification: Unclassified Go into Battle for Naboo and choose a sphere (a game). There will be a monologue and a circular picture of a stylised scene from the level you have selected. This circular picture is bordered with a blue frame. It isn't a smooth blue like in Windows. It has funny nested curved lines as it tries to make the same smoothness as happens in Windows. I'll be posting a video to show exactly what I mean. This might be related to the pause menu border being flickery. This is my graphics card: An ATI Redwood [Radeon HD 5670] using the fglrx proprietary driver. modinfo said my ATI driver's srcversion is EEC3D3F06B0B31BC528C8D9. I'm putting 1.3.16 as the version, though I have never seen this work in any version of Wine (up to 1.4 rc 2). I think this is an "original" bug, as opposed to a bug introduced by a patch. http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=29797 --- Comment #2 from Jake Thomas <jthomas97411(a)yahoo.com> 2012-02-05 02:39:09 CST --- Surprisingly, in Wine 1.3.28, the border around the level select and the border around the pause menu are smooth! The boarder around the pause menu is still flickery, but it is smooth. This is surprising because in 1.3.16, 1.3.20, and 1.3.26, those boarders weren't smooth, in 1.3.28, they are smooth, then in 1.3.29, 1.3.37, 1.4 rc 1, and 1.4 rc 2, they aren't smooth anymore. So 1.3.28 and possibly 1.3.27 are their own little island. It is interesting that 1.3.28 was the last to "work" because 1.3.28 was the also the last to work with another Wine-BFN bug: 29799. http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=29797 --- Comment #3 from Jake Thomas <jthomas97411(a)yahoo.com> 2012-02-05 04:35:49 CST --- Ok, just got more info: This affects more than I thought. The shadow of Borvo the Hut's Cargo ship as well and the snowy mountains have this "line-y" thing going on. Also, if you accomplish a mission, after the mission when it congratulates you, there is a background consisting of a circle with a symbol on it. This circle has the "line-y" thing going on. Same story for the thing that says "You discovered [whatever]" if you get a bonus. Whereas in Wine 1.2.28, the Shadow of Borvo the Hut's Cargo ship is smooth and the snowy mountains don't have the "line-y" thing going on either. It makes the way things render look better. So it's more of a global graphics issue. So maybe this is a bigger bug than I thought. That makes 1.3.29 the first version of Wine to have this bug since the most recent regression of this bug. Are we supposed to post the last version that worked rather than the first version that didn't work? You'd think that for a bug report I'd submit the version that has a bug. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

Of course. This should be the first version *with* the bug. My bad. Setting version to 1.3.29. A regression test might help in any case. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.
