http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=10476 Summary: Safari: Title bar missing Product: Wine Version: 0.9.49. Platform: PC URL: http://www.apple.com/safari/ OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: test AssignedTo: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org ReportedBy: bammzilla(a)gabriana.com Created an attachment (id=9207) --> (http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=9207) Safari 3.0.4 under Wine 0.9.49 Safari 3.0.4 on Wine 0.9.49 the title bar is missing making it difficult to maximize, minimize, and close the window. I can do the above using keyboard shortcuts, but the buttons in the titlebar are more intuitive to use, at least for me. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

Safari provides its own titlebar as can be seen in attachment 8303 to bug 9836, and can be seen in Windows XP screenshot here. Peter, from your screenshot it looks like the titlebar was filled in by Ubuntu's window manager.
Safari provides its own titlebar as can be seen in attachment 8303 [details] to bug 9836, and can be seen in Windows XP screenshot here. Safari's titlebar is missing.
Even if I uncheck the option to let the WM control Safari (winecfg graphics tab) it still works with the gray Safari title bar (see new attachment). That said, the WM gives better control and I have no problem letting the WM control the title bar, and it does work fine that way. What is your setting for that in winecfg (under graphics tab)? -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

I unchecked the box to allow the WM to control the title bar in winecfg and it still works with the safari one now. Cause I always have it checked, but I had Safari's titlebar in 3.0.3 but none in 3.0.4. Did you notice that your titlebar changed from Safari's to Ubuntu's even if you had the option checked in both versions? -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

Peter, when you made attachment 8303 [details] using Safari 3.0.3, did you have "allow the WM to control the windows" checked or unchecked?
It was probably checked (the default), but I've since deleted that install so I can't verify. I was also running 64 bit fiesty at the time, and I've since changed to 32 bit gutsy, so that may have made a difference, or the version of wine could have made a difference.
Cause I always have it checked, but I had Safari's titlebar in 3.0.3 but none in 3.0.4.
Could be a difference in wine versions too. Maybe you have it checked but your WM isn't creating the title bar properly, what happens if you uncheck it?
Did you notice that your titlebar changed from Safari's to Ubuntu's even if you had the option checked in both versions?
No, not until you just pointed it out. I was more concerned with the entire interface being blacked out at the time (and just happy that I had gotten it to work at all). -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=10476 --- Comment #10 from Bamm Gabriana <bammzilla(a)gabriana.com> 2007-11-22 04:10:10 --- Tested it in Ubuntu and Kubuntu. In Ubuntu its titlebar is replaced by Ubuntu's titlebar. In Kubuntu there is no titlebar at all. I will try other distros later to see its behavior.
Could be a difference in wine versions too. Maybe you have it checked but your WM isn't creating the title bar properly, what happens if you uncheck it?
If I uncheck it I couldn't minimize the window and can't control it using the window manager. However the titlebar did appear. This is not the behavior I want though. I want to have a titlebar and have the wm control the window. I also noticed that Safari sends a message to the wm to not draw the window decorations, because it draws its own. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

Created an attachment (id=9280) --> (http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=9280) [details] A No Border message is sent to Kwin.

...or more specifically use gnome instead of kde. Curiously I have to wonder if this is a problem with kde (for not displaying the title bar when told not to, sounds like kde is doing what it's supposed to) or is it a problem with Safari or for not drawing the title bar when it sends the No Border Message or with wine for sending / passing through the No Border message when the title bar isn't being drawn by Safari? -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

The WM did the right thing, but old versions of Wine sent the wrong message to the WM. However this is fixed as of Wine 1.0-rc1. I think it's fine to change its resolution from Invalid to Fixed. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.
