This can be worked around by editing the registry key like that:

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Plogue Art et Technologie, Inc\chipsounds]
"license_path"="C:\\users\\abique\\AppData\\Plogue Art et Technologie,
Inc\\chipsounds\\chipsounds_license.png"

How do you test this bug? 

The software provided via website is definitely newer than the reported here
since it's from 2015.
