Removing EXT_glDrawArraysInstanced* and EXT_glDrawElementsInstanced* (which seem to use GL_*_draw_instanced does not make any difference at all. Perhaps I am going about it the wrong way though.
I'm not much of a programmer but I don't think just disabling the instructions would be much use. If I understand the problem correctly the solution would be for Wine to actually translate the D3D instructions regarding geometry instancing into corresponding OGL instructions. Sadly I'm not much help when it comes to code, but maybe someone else might find this problem interesting enough, especially now that ArmA 2 Free is out. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

My GPU is a GeForce 550 Ti, 2GB model. The graphics now seem fine in the menu, and are good ingame. Some minor glitches (muzzle flash and gun animations leaving afterburn, clipping smoke and effects) are resolved by setting StrictDrawOrdering to enabled. Antialiasing must be set to Low for textures to appear. The main problem is LoD - objects, trees and buildings sometimes flicker in and out when the view is changed or the player moves. Likewise, map entities also flicker. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.

http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=21253 Ben <pepsifx357(a)gmail.com> changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- CC| |pepsifx357(a)gmail.com --- Comment #15 from Ben <pepsifx357(a)gmail.com> 2013-03-02 08:48:13 CST --- I have nvidia 8800GTS 328MB card, nvidia driver 313.18, Wine version 1.5.24, and this is all on Arch Linux x86-64 Arma 2/OA retail version 1.60 with latest beta patches still has texturing problems. The last Nvidia driver update seemed to speed the game up, despite having to run on low to no graphics with 500 meter visability. (Possible WINE updates helped as well), but I still have aprox. 10 meters of blackness around the player and complete ground blackout above 23 meters in aircraft. Building textures and player textures are still a little glichy, and the ingame map is a seizure waiting to happen, constantly flashing with no lat and lon markings. Dust effects smear slightly and fire/smoke effects are only visible at upper portion of the screen. To balance this overview, I thank the WINE team for taking the game from uninstallable to playable in such a relatively short time. I only wish I knew how to do what you guys do so I could help. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=21253 Paul Brüll <paul.bruell(a)gmail.com> changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- CC| |paul.bruell(a)gmail.com --- Comment #16 from Paul Brüll <paul.bruell(a)gmail.com> 2013-06-16 06:38:58 CDT --- Hello, When using the exact same settings as described below and wine 1.5.4 and some raw input patch (using play on linux wine 1.5.4-xliveless3-rawinput3) the textures do not flash. must test further though... The following is with wine 1.5.31 i think there are multiple problems here, as i only have a geforce gtx 660m i cant state how its on an amd graphics card. but when i first start the game there are no textures on the ground or buildings, everything is kinda beige coloured. smoke, fire and shadows kinda smear across the screen. its unplayable. then i searched around and found a youtube video where someone suggested playing around with GLSL support and strict draw ordering. it got better with GLSL disabled and strict draw ordering enabled. next i enabled antialiasing on its lowest setting (doesnt matter which setting really, only matters that its enabled.) that way i had the best results. post effects kinda seem to smear the shadows a bit but only sometimes... any other setting did not affect the glitches at all. now i can see all textures. but groundtextures flash in and out of view beeing replaced sometimes by white or black colour. around the player char is an area where the texture is constantly black or white. it all depends on camera angle, or maybe even the ground angle. planes appear to be less flashy than mountain areas the grass and shrubs help in visibility of the ground but hinder the sight when lying flat on the ground. and since arma 2 doesnt have that extra grass level texture for great distances, you are visible over great distances anyways. sometimes the textures on buildings (also runways) change to black when i am at a certain distance to it. sometimes when in a barn, the interiour buildings textures change to that beige coulour, but the items stay normal( crates and haystacks etc.) i would not recomend people who are prone to seizures or react to flashing lights to play this way, but other than headaches i had no problems so far. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.winehq.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.
