Since clicking a link does not open a web browser, being able to copy and paste the URL is important, but not everybody (especially mailing lists) show the URL behind the link, often just a keyword is shown. In Eudora under Windows XP, it was always possible to check the source of an email message. In the source, all information and all headers and all full URLs could be inspected. Very handy to be able to distinguish between spam and regular mail, or when the composer of the email made a small error in including a link to a web page.
