I also don't see anything we could be doing wrong here. When trying to compile with the same shader that's passed to us I get a similar failure with native. Are you sure that these shaders actually correctly compile on native? Are there any clear graphical errors? 'E5002: Can't implicitly convert from <error type> to float4.' The shader it passes in seems to be manually preprocessed (not using the HLSL preprocessor), and also broken. I think it makes sense to close this bug and the others unless there's clear evidence that it's *supposed* to compile.
