[Bug 27384] New: Civilization 5 Won't Start

We are sorry for the inconvenience." When double-clicking either CivilizationV.exe or CivilizationV_DX11.exe, I get a waitcursor for a long time (maybe 10 or 15 seconds), which then disappears and nothing happens. I'm not sure how to get the exact wine version. But I followed the instructions in the link you pasted, and got three log files: Launcher.exe.log, CivilizationV.exe.log, and CivilizationV_DX11.log. Yes, I can execute each file on Windows, without any problems.
If so, each log shows an independent bug. I don't know what's causing the launcher crash.
OK. Well I'm glad that I've reported something that may actually help improve Wine, then! :-)
CivilizationV.exe is hitting an unimplemented function in our msvcrt component (winetricks vcrun2008 should work around that).
