[Bug 52808] New: Full screen does not scale properly in older apps: display resolution change needed
https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=52808 Bug ID: 52808 Summary: Full screen does not scale properly in older apps: display resolution change needed Product: Wine Version: 7.2 Hardware: x86-64 OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown Assignee: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org Reporter: zargulthewizard(a)outlook.com Distribution: --- I am currently running Mavis Beacon teaches typing 15, a Windows program that goes back to 98. The application does run with mfc42 installed, but when in full screen mode, it only displays in the top left corner of the screen at the native low resolution, leaving most of the screen unused and blank. On windows, the display resolution is automatically changed so that the application goes into full screen mode correctly. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. I installed the program on my Dell G5-5000 with NVidia GeForce (previously had been on a Lenovo IdeaPad with Intel HD), and the problem is not present. This particular IdeaPad has had troubles in the past, so are you still interested in the bug? It might not be wine's fault at all. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

Still, a log would be helpful. Someone else might have the same problem. In the case that it happened with IdeaPad/Intel only. Please share the exact hardware and software(GPU especially) versions for the machine. You can also try upgrading the GPU driver and see if it can be fixed. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. Created attachment 72247 [details] manually copy-pasted log from the terminal
I included the launch command. Did I do this correctly?
Obviously not - those commas were somewhat important. (also, I usually go with '2>&1 | tee <log filename>', though you may skip the pipe and just redirect to file (personally I often see having it echo to terminal helpful...at least when there's not too much output)) -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. If the problem is gone in X.org, this should be marked fixed and a new issue opened for wayland. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
