That version of flex is over a decade old (1999). CentOS should really be providing a more up to date package (2.5.33 was released in 2006).
Hi Austin, I have no prayer of getting CentOS upstream (Red Hat Enterprise Linux) to upgrade this package. That is just the way it is. I have a much, much higher chance of getting you guys to modify your requirements. Is it possible for you to support CentOS's version? If not, I am frozen at 1.1.35 and can not test any updates. That really stinks. I have no prayer of getting CentOS upstream (Red Hat Enterprise Linux) to upgrade this package. That is just the way it is. Not my decision, but I'd say it's unlikely. Fedora Core 7's flex RPM installs in CentOS 5.4 without problem.
