[Bug 57104] New: every game I try segfaults in the same way in Experimental WOW64 mode
https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=57104 Bug ID: 57104 Summary: every game I try segfaults in the same way in Experimental WOW64 mode Product: Wine Version: unspecified Hardware: x86-64 OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: major Priority: P2 Component: -unknown Assignee: wine-bugs(a)winehq.org Reporter: redwindwanderer(a)gmail.com Distribution: --- Created attachment 76986 --> https://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=76986 WINE Experimental WOW64 crash log Hi, I build WINE latest gitlab master branch code in a 64bit-only Debian Stable system. I build it like this: ./configure --enable-win64 --without-x --with-wayland --enable-archs=x86_64,i386 However, any games using Directx crash before even starting (backtrace log attached). Is that expected at this point? Shouldn't many games work by now in experimental WOW64 mode or is it still early days? Thanks! -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

Can you tell me about some 32bit games that work in experimental wow64 mode for you? I'd like to see what it's capable of on a 64bit-only system. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

No, it's not fixed by that patch. Possibly unrelated. -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply. You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

i have testing this mode some time ago* with xubuntu 24.04 x64 when you have wine in this mode only give wine binary (on wine-staging produce wine64 binary) *around since wine 9.4 when wine add: VK_EXT_map_memory_placed (this solve a huge problem related stability (more notorious in 32bit apps), actually suddenly crashes in most cases are solved in my case) for test apps i use this command for launch appetizer (program for launch apps) DXVK_HUD=devinfo,fps,version,api DXVK_FRAME_RATE=60 DXVK_LOG_LEVEL=none DXVK_CONFIG_FILE=/home/linuxdesktopx64/dxvk.conf WINEDEBUG=-all wine appetizer.exe here show some gameplay videos with this (videos uploaded since around may 15 of this year): https://www.youtube.com/@mrdeathjr28/videos -- Do not reply to this email, post in Bugzilla using the above URL to reply.
