Unmapping the Z drive means the installer no longer crashes whilst searching for Netscape, but during install, an error message pops up Title: "Self Registration Failure" Message: "The file c:\windows\system32\ivfsrc.ax failed to self register. The version I was installing is the one bundled with Traffic Giant but I'm sure its included with a few older games.
